Maine Maple Sunday event is celebrated on the 4th Sunday of March. Maine Maple Sunday is actually the Spring Celebration in which sugarhouses throughout Maine open their doors to allow the public to experience the making (and tasting too) of syrup.
In 2008, Maine was named the No. 3 syrup producer in the U.S., behind Vermont and New York.
